Address: Uzvaras bulvāris 1A, Cēsis. Lila offers hand-building and potter’s-wheel sessions for adults and children, including couple and group formats. Decide whether you want to shape clay by hand or try the wheel, then choose the relevant class. The studio lists sessions of roughly one to three hours, depending on the format.
Your piece will stay at the studio after the class. Lila gives a typical wait of three to four weeks for drying, glazing and firing. Address: Rīgas iela 22, Cēsis. VOKUR’s own website announces this as its new location. Some tourism listings still show Rīgas iela 36; use the business’s current address when planning your visit.
The workshop offers public classes, private events and individual sessions. Its maker profile introduces designer Pēteris Ločmelis, whose work and teaching focus on silver jewellery.
The public-class page describes three-hour sessions for making rings, earrings or pendants. It also sets out the materials included in the fee and charges for additional silver. Stone-setting belongs to private sessions, so discuss a specific design before choosing a class. Cēsis Castle: check the seasonal programme
Location: the Medieval Castle complex at Pils laukums, Cēsis. The official Cēsis tourism listing describes summer-weekend activities in the castle garden, including traditional crafts, medieval games and the kitchen garden.
Make this part of a castle visit if you want to see historical skills in context. Confirm which crafts will be represented, whether visitors can participate and what the admission ticket covers. Call +371 26576111 for the programme on your date.
The castle’s general opening hours are not a timetable for every craft activity. In particular, do not assume that autumn opening means an artisan demonstration will be running. Check the linked visitor listing before setting out.
Vēverīšas: arrange a textile workshop visit
Address: Rīgas iela 19, third floor, Cēsis. Vēverīšas makes Latvian folk costumes and houses a permanent costume exhibition, with folk-art items and souvenirs also listed.
Visits require an advance phone appointment on +371 26054322. This is a useful option for an interest in textiles and traditional dress. The listing confirms visits and commissions, but does not advertise a drop-in weaving lesson. If you want to try a technique yourself, ask specifically whether that can be arranged. Check access to the third-floor premises if stairs affect your visit.
