A useful souvenir starts with a place to find it. In Cēsis, you can browse gifts from regional makers, look for Latvian design, buy a loaf from an Old Town bakery or book a workshop to make something yourself. These five stops offer different ways to take a little of your visit home.

Information checked: 30 September 2026. Addresses and services were checked against the linked tourism listings and business websites. Use those links for current opening hours, prices and availability; a listing does not guarantee that a particular item is in stock.

Dāvanu pietura: tea, treats and small gifts

Rīgas iela 3. The official Dāvanu pietura listing describes products by Cēsis-region makers alongside Latvian-produced treats, teas, spices, jewellery and candles. It is a useful first stop if you want to compare several kinds of gift in one place.

For something easy to pack, we would start by looking at a small packet of tea or a piece of jewellery. Ask who made it and where: an item sold in Cēsis may come from the surrounding region or elsewhere in Latvia. If local origin matters most to you, ask the shop to point out its Cēsis-region producers.

Simple Concept: contemporary Latvian design

Rīgas iela 17A. Simple Concept’s own store page confirms its Old Town address and focus on gifts and design from Latvia. The Cēsis tourism listing includes home décor, accessories and jewellery.

The brand’s online catalogue is useful for ideas such as coasters, serving boards and trays. Check with the shop before making a special journey for an online item. A compact object you will use at home can be a good alternative to a purely decorative keepsake.

Use the business’s store page for its latest opening schedule. Older guidebooks can contain a previous address or different hours.

Vēverīšas: textiles and Latvian folk art

Rīgas iela 19, third floor. The Vēverīšas weaving workshop listing describes a folk-costume exhibition, souvenirs and folk-art items, as well as made-to-order costume pieces. Its wider work includes shawls, scarves, sashes and socks.

Visits require a phone appointment: +371 26054322. When booking, explain whether you want a ready-made gift, to see the exhibition or to discuss a commission. Ask about materials, care and completion time before choosing; an ordered textile may need a later collection or delivery. If stairs affect your visit, check access arrangements when you call.

Lila: make your own pottery

Uzvaras bulvāris 1A. Lila’s ceramics studio offers hand-building and potter’s-wheel sessions by prior reservation. You can shape a cup, bowl or decorative piece, depending on the class you book. Contact the studio on +371 20268007 to discuss the format.

This option needs more planning than buying a finished souvenir. The studio says newly made pieces stay for drying, glazing and firing, currently taking around three to four weeks. Confirm the timing and collection arrangements before booking. Its website mentions parcel-locker delivery; visitors travelling abroad should ask whether delivery to their destination is possible and what it would cost.

Choose this if making the object is part of the experience you want. If you need a gift to take away that day, ask about finished work rather than assuming a class piece will be ready.

Cēsu Maize: something to share at home

Rīgas iela 18. Cēsu Maize’s official tourism listing describes naturally leavened bread made with organic flours, including loaves using rye and spelt. It also notes that the bakery can close early when the bread sells out.

A loaf is our pick for a gift to share soon after your visit. Ask which bread will travel well, how to store it and how long it will keep. Check ingredients with the baker if you are buying for someone with dietary requirements. For a particular loaf or collection time, contact the bakery on +371 29238438.

Fit shopping into your visit

For a simple Old Town shopping plan, browse Dāvanu pietura at Rīgas iela 3, then continue along the street to Simple Concept and Cēsu Maize. Fit Vēverīšas around a confirmed appointment; give a booked session at Lila its own space in your day. Check opening hours first, and avoid leaving bread shopping until the last possible moment.

For city-branded souvenirs, ask the Cēsis Tourism Information Centre at Pils laukums 5 what is currently available. Past souvenir collections are not a reliable guide to today’s stock.

Combine these stops with the rest of your day using our Cēsis visit planner. If you are also planning a ride, our cycling guide helps you choose a route before deciding how much shopping time to leave.

Choose a gift that suits the journey home

  • Check the maker. Ask for the producer’s name and place of manufacture rather than relying on a Latvian motif alone.
  • Check what is ready now. Separate an item available to buy from a sample, a custom order or a workshop project.
  • Ask for packing and care advice. Protect fragile pieces and find out how to clean or look after textiles and wooden objects.
  • Let the recipient guide the choice. A tea they will drink, an object they will use or a craft they enjoy is a better starting point than trying to buy something from every category.
