How we check a guide
Our revised guides bring together information from visitor centres, attraction operators, transport providers and other sources named in the article. We check practical claims against those sources, add links so you can check them yourself, and explain where information is uncertain or conflicting.
AI tools assist with research and drafting. A source review is not a visit in person: a route description does not mean we have walked or cycled it, and a workshop listing does not mean we have attended a class. Opening hours, departures, prices and access can change after a guide is updated. Confirm them with the operator before travelling.
Start with the reviewed guides
As of 30 September 2026, these 6 articles have been revised with source checks:
- Cēsis cycling routes: four rides in Gauja National Park
- Where to buy souvenirs in Cēsis: five local stops
- Craft workshops in Cēsis: pottery, silver and traditional skills
- Black swans in Cēsis: visiting Maija Park
- Cēsis Castle visitor guide: towers, museum and park
- Gauja National Park from Cēsis: walks, cliffs and day trips
The one-day Cēsis itinerary from Riga has also been researched and updated. Its suggested timing is a planning aid; use the linked transport services for actual departures.
The wider collection contains 261 articles. The remaining 255 older articles have not yet had this source review. Their original publication dates are retained, and an update date alone should not be read as proof of an on-site visit.
Photographs and dates
New photographs added to the reviewed guides carry a caption, photographer credit and source/licence links. Dated archive photographs show the place when they were taken; they do not confirm its condition today. Some older imagery remains under review.
